Measuring the Wheel Base!!!   One of the reasons I decided to go ahead and buy the 56 F100 was because it had a 8’ bed and the wheel base was 118”.   My International 1976 Scout II had a wheel base of 118”.   So in the back of my mind I knew that maybe some day I could try to put the scout under it.   Even if the wheel base on your change over frame is a little long there are ways to compensate for it.

    You could:

  • Extend the box and running boards!
  • Put a spacer in between the box and cab-(a rack of some kind)
  • Extend the running boards.
  • Shorten or extend the frame (not recommended)
  • Remember your working with metal so you can make things work.
