Setting the Box!!
Since the wheelbase on the Scout II was the same as the 56 Ford I know I would be very close. So when it
came time to lower the box down all I had to do was put on the running boards and attach one bolt to the fender.
That got me very close. . Right now I'll go over some of the things you could do if you were to long or to short.
The key is to center up in the wheel wells. If your box was short you could;
- Put a spacer or rack in
between the cab and the box.
- A tool box of some kind
- Add to the box......its metal
If your box is to long you can take the back end off and cut it back and put the back end ........back on. There's
always a way when your working with metal. It's better to match up the wheel base before you start.
Here's some picture on how I rigged the box so I could make the box mounts.

Here I got the box close with the running board....then leveled it......

Then I used floor and bottle jacks and story sticks with c-clamp to hold the box level
Once the box was centered on the frame and level.......I made my box mounting brackets. I used 2" x 2" angle with the
body mount bushings off of the Scout II and welded them on the top of the angles.

Then I c-clamped them on the frame under a metal cross member in the box floor. Then I tached them in place......then I drilled a hole up thru the
the metal cross member and used a 3/8" carage bolt with the rounded head and dropped it down and bolted everything up.
