Lifting Beam pays off big time! Here is one of my favorite shots of this whole project. The 1956 truck cab and box are hanging on the beam. This kind of set up makes this kind of work go smooth and easy.

(New) Rolling out the old and bringing in the new!   Once you get the chassis rolled out you can get ready to bring the new chassis in   Here's where the real work begins.   Setting the 56 body on the 4 wheel drive frame.

I actually had the 56 and the scout sitting side by side.   When I rolled out the 56 frame I used a $20.00 floor jack and a long piece of pipe to pee whistle the scout frame over in place.

Do what ever you need to the cab now......then bring the new frame in and begin lowering down the cab.   This is where you will begin to see how things are going to match up.   All trucks require some fabrication so ......just take it as it comes and walk thru what ever you have to do to make your project work.

Plan on:

·         Making front and rear cab brackets

·         Possible heating up the firewall to let the cab come forward.

·         Determine the height of the cab from the ground

·         Do all painting and rust proofing now

·         Replace metal if you have too.

Right now measure the front cab mount holes and then measure the frame width.   Out side to outside.  Then you will know how to make your front cab brackets.
