Installing the frame for the Running Boards!!   Running Boards cost around $300.00 for a pair.......so even though mine had holes in them I still used them.  The metal on these old trucks is amazing........with all the holes these running boards are still very strong.

Later on I'll probably coat mine with the same material they put in the back of truck liners.  Then they would last forever!

Since my truck has running boards I’ll cover that. I first bolted the running boards to the fenders.  Then I propped up the middle and measured from the side of the frame out to edge of the running board.

I took one inch off of that measurement and then measured for the vertical down leg as show in the next picture.   I put this brace in three places and put enough weld on them to hold them.

In this picture here you can see the lugs for the rear cab as well as the iron supporting the running boards!

Put the finally adjustments on the joints by shimming the running boards.   You can change the look of these joints

Rebuilding your own truck is the only way to go.
