Now let’s move to the steering column. First you will need a pattern to use to burn
the holes in the firewall for the steering column and the brake booster.

On the Scout II I removed this plate and cut it in half. Then I mounted it to the inside of the
firewall with self tapping screws.
And cut out the holes with my torch.

The Steering column will have to be offset a little to allow the brake pedals to pass by it.
The picture below show the brake pedal hole just off to one side of the steering column
hole. Make sure you clean up and paint this area. Paint the whole firewall.

When you finally set the steering column in, make sure the shaft is very clean and adjust the steering wheel to make sure the tires
are straight and the steering wheel looks right. Now make a patch to go over the holes in the firewall that looks nice.

Fasten column to bottom of dash! I had to keep the steering column tight to the dash. I also had to make a bracket work
by bending it and bolting it to the dash.
